all bound up in the pulsating light thereby drawing a curious Nomis to the entrance.
“Come. … We will go down the tunnel together. Join your hand in mine and do not be afraid. … It has begun. … Try to eliminate all traces of fear and anxiety; … it will make the passage smoother.” With those words they were drawn, without walking, down the glowing red tunnel with the golden-white misty light beckoning to them in the distance.
The tunnel was longer than it had first appeared. When he turned to look over his shoulder, Nomis saw that the opening was receding far into the distance and all that was left of his world was a small black hole. As he began to panic, Pelydryn squeezed his hand reassuringly and smiled down with kindly eyes filled with intense universal love, soothing his fears again.
When Nomis looked forwards, the exit from the tunnel had grown very large indeed although Nomis could only see and feel the golden white mist of euphoria stretching out, reassuring them. The throbbing heart-like sound was becoming quite unbearable. Nevertheless, as they stepped off the edge into the warm mist, it suddenly went back, to being the quiet whisper in his ears that had begun with the appearance of Pelydryn.
“Please … Pelydryn, sir … why are we standing here?” Nomis asked timidly after a few minutes, because Pelydryn had made no attempt to move further. The peculiar mist was just swirling about them, caressing them, soothing their cares and troubles away.
“Hush, my little friend, all will become clearer in a short time. Just relax and listen with your mind’s senses,” Pelydryn’s voice replied in his mind.
They did not have long to wait before there was the sound of tinkling bells mingled with that of running water, coming from some distance inside the golden mist. Pelydryn led the way steadily forwards. It seemed only a short walk before they emerged from the mist.
Nomis once again could not believe his eyes. Amazingly, they were walking into a garden the like of which he had never seen before. Instead of the plants and flowers towering above him, as was normal, they seemed to have been miniaturised and each was surrounded by an aura of colour and swirling patterns. Nomis felt like a giant, but even that did not help the sensation of terror, rising like a tide in his chest.
